They say that flavors have a way of holding onto memories. For me, the story of Daisy’s doesn't start in a professional kitchen or at an arena concession stand. It starts in my mother’s kitchen, filled with the golden, buttery scent of her legendary pound cake.
My mother’s pound cake wasn't just a dessert; it was her way of showing love. It was the centerpiece of every holiday, the comfort in every hard time, and the treat everyone in the neighborhood hoped to get a slice of. It was simple, perfect, and made entirely from the heart.
When I founded Daisy’s, I knew I wanted to bring that same feeling of 'home' to the rest of Chicago. I realized that the heart of my inspiration was still sitting in my mother’s handwritten recipe book.
Today, Daisy’s is proud to carry on my late mother’s legacy. Alongside our signature Taffy Grapes, we serve her original-recipe pound cake—the same golden crust, the same dense, buttery center, and the same love in every bite.
We’ve taken these two traditions—one a Chicago neighborhood staple and the other a Daisy’s family treasure—and brought them together under one roof. Whether you’re trying our grapes at a local event or enjoying a slice of mama’s cake at a dessert table, you’re tasting a piece of my history.
